Rev. Dr. Gloria Wade Dillon is a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin, pastor, teacher, author, confidant and friend! She is the 5th of seven children born to the late Lillie B. and James E. Wade Sr. In Zanesville, OH. Educated in Zanesville City Schools, she holds a Bachelor ‘s of Science Degree in Special Education from Central State University, a Master’s of Science Degree in Student Personnel Services in College Counseling from the University of Dayton. Certifications in School Counseling K-12. A Master’s of Divinity Equivalency and a Doctorate of Ministry from The United Theological Seminary.
A retired Educator with over 35 years as a K-12 public school teacher, school counselor and a college counselor. She currently serves as Pastor of the Glory Ministries Church which she founded in 2008. She also founded and led ecumenical Christian Conferences for Women and Youth throughout the Xenia and Miami Valley Community. Her ministry of being present with people in their times of grief have helped people nationwide navigate their grief journeys.
She is a published author of children’s books, “Taste Like Chocolate, “ dealing with adoption, “It Must Have Been Something I Ate!” a book dealing with grief and loss and her latest, "859 Turner St.", a story about growing up in Zanesville. She has preached and presented workshops at conferences nationwide and on the shores of Africa and on the Sea of Galilee during pilgrimages to Ghana and Israel. The recipient of multiple awards and community recognitions, she is a member of The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame, has sat on various boards in the community and was awarded The Charles Glatt Award by The Ohio Education Association for Civil Rights Activism after the killing of a young unarmed black man at a local Walmart by the police! Gloria’s life mission is, “ if I can help somebody as I journey on, if I can cheer somebody with a word or song, then my living shall not be in vain!”
