Getting Started with Backyard Chickens

With Central State University

Learn the basics to take care of chickens in your own backyard! Information on getting started, important things to know beforehand, and a chance to get your questions answered!

Raising chickens at home is a common step for backyard homesteaders, and there is a lot to learn before taking in these feathered friends. Join Denise Brooks of Central State University to learn the basics of setting up a coop, caring for chickens and other small poultry for meat and egg production, and to see how to troubleshoot common problems. This program is a great opportunity for folks interested in homesteading to get any questions answered and to learn some common pitfalls others have faced.

This program will be held at the Dresden Branch Library on Tuesday, November 10 from 5-6 PM. Registration is requested for this event. Please contact our information desk or event facilitator, Hailey Rantz, with any additional questions.
