Welcome to the Muskingum County Library System
This class will teach parents and caregivers the importance of baby sign language along with modeling some of the signs. The class will be taught by members of MCBDD Early Intervention Team.
You can start teaching baby sign language to your child when they are around 6 months or older. Research indicates sign language does not interfere with the child's ability to learn and develop language. In fact, it stimulates language development and provides a way for the child to communicate until they develop words. Think of baby signs as a bridge to spoken language. As your child learns to talk, they can use sign to communicate their wants and needs with others.
The class will last 60 minutes and will be taught by members of the Muskingum Co. Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) Intervention Team.
