Travis Swackhammer is an improvisational performance artist and singer-songwriter that has almost 30 years of experience. He has performed at national venues with members of the NPR broadcast “Mountain Stage”. He has devoted his life to the performing arts as a poet, guitarist and vocalist; and been a part of many projects that vary from bluegrass, gospel, metal, pop, folk, and world music. He is currently working on an instrumental solo project for guitar called “Vagaries Smile” which will be his first performance at the John McIntire Library.
“VAGARIES SMILE”
Vagaries Smile is an eclectic neoclassical improvisation that in spirit touches the realms of world music. The project is an archaic reinvention of the earthly acoustic vibe. The work transitions from grey to night with a theatrical blend of soundtrack like instrumentals that resonate within the psyche creating a dark metaphysical experience.
