Join the Muskingum 250 and MCLS highlighting the life of Molly Pitcher and her exploits in the American Revolution.

Ruth Pangrace will portray the historic figure Molly Pitcher (born Mary Ludwig Hays McCauley in this Muskingum 250 and MCLS event. Her contributions ranged from enduring the harsh winter at Valley Forge to taking her wounded husband's place on the cannon line during the Battle of Monmouth. The experiences of Molly Pitcher reflect the enduring struggle of many women in support of the Continental Army in the Cause for Independence.

Reportedly, Washington personally acknowledged her bravery at the Battle of Monmouth and bestowed the honorary title of "Sergeant Molly". Later in 1822, the State of Pennsylvania awarded her a veteran's pension for her service in the Revolutionary War.
