Welcome to the Muskingum County Library System
Inspired by adventure and exploration, teens are invited to embark on a literary journey where they can express themselves, share their experiences, and dive into imaginative worlds. Ages 12-18.
Participants will attend an engaging workshop focused on zine creation, where they'll learn about layout design, content creation, and printing techniques. Through hands-on activities, teens will unleash their artistic flair and craft their own unique zines. "TeenZine Chronicles" offers an exciting opportunity for teens to embark on a creative adventure, express themselves, and share their stories with the world. Join us on this thrilling journey of self-discovery and imagination!
What is a Zine?
"Zines, taking their name from magazines or fanzines, are small-circulation, self-published works of alternative literature covering a full spectrum of topics. Resisting typical modes of production and bucking the traditional publishing establishment, they are usually made with borrowed images and/or text and reproduced via copy machine. Zines are typically created by an individual or sometimes by a small, collaborative group." Whitworth University has their own Zine collection, along with a lot of useful information and examples of zines.
